01 — Overview

What Huntify is

A hunting logbook for iOS and Android. Every harvest you log is stamped with the exact GPS position and the conditions at the moment of the shot — temperature, wind, precipitation, air pressure and moon phase — so the log becomes a record you can learn from rather than a list of dates.

It also runs the hunt itself. Start a session and Huntify records your route in the background, puts you on your team’s live map, and quietly warns you when another hunter is close. Your team gets a private feed, a chat thread, and a season quota that ticks down on its own as kills are logged.

The built-in species database covers 504 huntable species across more than 100 countries, with the app and the species names translated into 21 languages. Huntify is free to download and use; Premium is an optional annual subscription that adds AI species identification, insights, harvest reports and team season quotas, and removes ads.

Three things a paper book cannot do

Most hunting apps will store a photograph and a date. These are the parts that only work because the whole party is in the same place.

Live hunt

The whole party on one map

Start a session and your route records in the background while your phone stays in your pocket. For as long as it runs, teammates see you as a live dot on the shared map — tap one to watch their hunt or join it. Afterwards the trail is yours to read back.

  • Teammates appear on the team map by starting a hunt — no invite, no request.
  • An anonymous warning when another hunter is close, at a radius you set.
  • Export the finished trail as GPX or KML for Garmin, Gaia or Google Earth.

The cabin-wall tally, kept honest

A team admin sets the season ceiling per species — with age, sex and hunting ground wherever the licence says so — and every kill logged to the team strikes the right line the moment it is entered. Nobody has to ring round on the last weekend to work out what is left.

  • Set per species, age, sex and hunting ground, inside a date window.
  • Going over is a warning, never a block — the field is not the place for a locked form.
  • One subscription on the team admin covers the whole party.

Privacy

Where it happened is yours to give

Every entry carries a visibility level — private, followers, or public — and a default you set once. Entries shown publicly are placed at a fuzzed position rather than the exact pin, and switching on Hide exact location widens that blur to roughly a 55 km area.

  • Three visibility levels, per entry, changeable after the fact.
  • Tagging another hunter needs their consent before anyone else sees the tag.
  • Your live position during a hunt goes only to the audience you pick.

04 — A day of it

From first light to the season report

  1. Start the hunt

    Open a session before you head out. Huntify records your route in the background and puts you on your team’s live map.

  2. Log the harvest

    Species, weapon, weight, photos. GPS, weather and moon phase are filled in for you, and the team quota updates itself.

  3. Keep the season

    Review trails and statistics, compare on the leaderboards, and export the season as a report when it closes.
