Terms of Service

Welcome to Huntify. By downloading or using this application you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Huntify is operated by Tanum Studio AS, a company registered in Norway.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, matching the App Store and Google Play age rating. Users between 13 and 15 must obtain parental permission before signing up (the digital-consent floor varies by EEA country: 13 in Norway, up to 16 in others). You must also comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including those governing the possession of firearms, hunting licences, and the harvesting of wildlife. Huntify is a record-keeping and social tool — it does not grant any hunting rights or licences.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may not create accounts on behalf of other people or organisations without their consent.
• One account per person. Duplicate accounts will be merged or removed.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@huntify.net if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Post harvest entries for animals taken illegally (out of season, without a licence, in restricted areas, or in violation of bag limits)
• Upload content that depicts illegal activity, animal cruelty, or gratuitous gore
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in comments, @mentions, or messages
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Use the app to spam other users or promote third-party products
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the API or database
• Create bot accounts or automate interactions
• Share your account credentials with others

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the photos, notes, and other content you post (“User Content”). By posting User Content you grant Huntify a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service.

You represent that you have the right to post all User Content and that it does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.

You may delete your content at any time. After deletion, it may remain in cached or backup copies for up to 30 days before being permanently removed.

5. Location Data

Huntify collects GPS coordinates when you log a harvest entry. You control who sees the entry via its visibility setting (Me / Friends / Everyone). Exact coordinates are only ever shown to you and your hunting team; friends and public viewers see an approximate location (~28 km grid, or ~55 km with "hide exact location"). You should still consider carefully what you share, as hunting locations can be commercially or personally sensitive.

6. Premium Subscription (Huntify Premium)

Huntify Premium unlocks premium features including video uploads on harvests, premium topographic map layers, species leaderboards, harvest reports (CSV / PDF / RA-0574), and predictive statistics. Premium is available as an annual subscription managed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing including local VAT is displayed at the purchase screen at the time of purchase.

• Subscriptions auto-renew annually unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The renewal date and price are disclosed before purchase and shown in your App Store / Google Play subscription settings.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Manage Subscription (which opens the OS subscription page). We do not have access to your billing channel and cannot cancel on your behalf.
• Refunds & right of withdrawal: we honor all refund requests, no questions asked. If you are not happy with your subscription, contact us at support@huntify.net and we will arrange a refund. You also retain any statutory rights you have as a consumer (in the EEA / Norway, a 14-day withdrawal period under Norwegian Angrerettloven §22 / EU CRD Art. 16(m)); nothing here limits those rights. Because purchases are processed by the App Store and Google Play, a refund may also be requested directly through Apple or Google.
• We do not offer a monthly subscription. Hunting in Scandinavia is seasonal and we believe an annual term aligns with how the app is used. If we add a non-recurring season pass in the future its terms will be disclosed at purchase.
• Lifetime membership is not available for purchase. It is granted at the sole discretion of the Huntify team (e.g. to early testers or contributors).
• Promotional Premium (e.g. founding-member or referral rewards) is time-limited. When the promotional period ends, the account reverts to the free tier unless an active paid subscription is in place. Any time limit is disclosed when the promotion is granted.

7. AI Species Identification

The AI species identification feature uses Anthropic's Claude vision API to suggest a species based on a photo. This is a beta-quality suggestion only — it may be inaccurate. You are solely responsible for correctly identifying and recording the species you have harvested, in accordance with your hunting licence and applicable regulations.

8. Crew Tagging

When you accept an invitation to join another hunter's live hunt session, the host may tag you on harvests they log during that session. Tagging means your username appears on the harvest record at the visibility tier the host chose (Me / Friends / Everyone). You consent to this tagging eligibility when you accept the hunt invitation. You will receive a push notification each time you are tagged and can remove yourself from any harvest at any time via the crew sheet on the harvest detail screen.

9. Teams

Team features allow hunters to collaborate, share entries on a private team map, and manage membership. Team admins are responsible for their team's content and membership. Huntify is not liable for disputes between team members.

10. Offline Functionality

Huntify can log harvest entries while offline. Entries are queued locally and uploaded when connectivity is restored. You are responsible for ensuring entries are accurate before they are submitted. Queued entries are stored only on your device and will be lost if the app is uninstalled before syncing.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Huntify is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We are not responsible for any loss of harvest data, including data lost due to device failure, app bugs, or connectivity issues.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Huntify and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or damage to your device.

13. Safety Features & Proximity Alerts

Huntify may show a proximity alert (“TCAS”) when another Huntify user who is actively sharing their live location is near you. This is a convenience feature, NOT a safety device. It only works between hunters who are both using Huntify with live location enabled and a working GPS signal — it cannot detect hunters who are not using the app, who have it closed, whose battery is dead, or where GPS is unavailable, and an alert may be delayed, missing, or inaccurate. You must ALWAYS visually identify your target and what lies beyond it, and follow safe firearm handling at all times, regardless of anything the app shows or does not show. Huntify is not liable for any reliance on this feature.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Norwegian courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via a push notification or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
