Atferd

Singing quail are primarily diurnal and ground-dwelling, moving through dense cover with quick, furtive runs. They are solitary or found in pairs, roosting on or near the ground within protective vegetation.

Move slowly through brushy terrain during early morning or late afternoon, using the slope contours to mask your approach and advance into wind. Employ deliberate, pausing steps to flush birds within range; listen for alarm calls and rustling that may indicate nearby coveys.
